Summary
Jou maonai or brewing rice beer is a common traditional practice since time immemorial. Jou is one of the traditional drinks of the Bodo people. It is served in different festivals and occasions to entertain the people.
Onla (Bodo word) is one of the bodo cuisines made from rice flour, khardwi (alkali) and species. Onla can sometimes be made by just adding chicken, pork or fish without adding any herbs or vegetables.

Dao Gogra is a place where the Chickens are kept. Bodos have a tradition of raising domesticated Chickens for commercial purpose as well as for meat and eggs.
Lapa is a kind of spinach especially available during the winter season. It is most commonly eaten by Bodo people. It is also very healthy and delicious.
Silkworm is one of the favourite delicacies of Bodo people and they reared silkworm (endiemphou and mugalatha) in most of the households of Bodo community.
Pork is the most favoured protein among the Bodos. There are multiple ways of preparing it. One famous dish is pork with Narzi. The dish is slightly bitter in taste and is consumed with rice.
Sobai Samo means freshwater snail with black lentils. It is a very famous and delicious dish. Freshwater snails can be also prepared with a simple onion-chilli curry. But most popularly it goes with black gram curry base.
