Bodo and Dimasa belong to the Bodo-Garo group of the Tibeto-Burman language family. Both of the languages are highly agglutinating and tonal in nature, with a large number of affixes (more suffixing than prefixing) productive in word formations. The dictionary thus includes the roots, prefixes and suffixes (both inflectional and derivational affixes) besides the derived words.
