Cultural Narrative:

After Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and brother Lakshmana were exiled to the forest, the demon king Ravana devised a plan to abduct Sita. One day, when Rama and Lakshmana were away, Ravana, disguised as a sage, tricked Sita and kidnapped her in his flying chariot.

As Ravana flew away with Sita, the noble bird Jatayu, a vulture and a devoted friend of Rama's family, saw the abduction and bravely tried to stop Ravana. Despite being old, Jatayu fought fiercely to rescue Sita. However, Ravana, being powerful, fatally wounded Jatayu by cutting off his wings, and Jatayu fell to the ground.

Before his death, Jatayu was discovered by Rama and Lakshmana. With his dying breath, he informed them about Sita's abduction and Ravana's direction. Moved by Jatayu's loyalty and sacrifice, Rama performed his last rites with great respect.

Jatayu’s bravery symbolizes selfless devotion, sacrifice, and the fight against injustice, even in the face of overwhelming odds.
